It's that there's so little effort to provide evidence to the contrary. In the past, when things didn't go Texas' way, the InterLeft typically replied with "well, if you had voted for us this would be different." And they were right. The difference here is that we're talking about people's lives and livelihoods that have been taken away due to no fault of their own. A force majeur, natural disaster, act of God, call it what you want, the wildfires were a disaster.
A disaster that doesn't differentiate between progressive or conservative, between red or blue. Our government shouldn't either.
