The Noise Machine (04/08/10)

Can you catch the theme?

The Houston Library System is cutting hours in an effort to cut $2.2 Million from their budget. (But hey...We have a downtown park! And a soccer stadium being built that might, maybe provide some economic stimulation to the area! That's all world class!) Gotta remember to keep your priorities straight in today's Brave New World.

Of course, given the financial state of things, it won't matter that the libraries' are close because the schools won't have enough money to teach the children anyway. Such is life in The Jungle of education that is Texas.

Remember: These are the people that are going to be in charge of your health care. Better get sick soon. I sense an Outbreak coming.

Charles Kuffner continues his series on voting trends in Texas. I guess he's got one more, which I assume I'll link to as well. If nothing else it's a glimpse into what supporters of one major party are hanging their hat on for 2010 and beyond. A Game Changer if you will.

Of course it raises questions, it was a government study conducted with a political goal in mind. It's like Dianetics on steroids.

The answer, of course, is to take the guns away from law-abiding citizens. (Which only makes sense in the Tale of Two Cities that is progressive thought.)

Political back n' forth is always fun. Granted, we're not partying like it's 1984 or anything.....

And finally....

Much ado about where you park your Fast Cars. I'm expecting some Misery to come out of this one for Houston's drivers.
