The Noise Machine (01/08/10)

It could be worse....you could be Nebraska....(-15 F)

A good question that's destined to be politicized. Ed Emmett is 100% correct to ask Sheriff Garcia to deep-dive on the budget numbers in order to try and craft a more realistic budget. (I guarantee you that some member of the InterLeft somewhere, in an effort to help former unremarkable City-Council member Gordon Quan, is going to start screaming partisanship. They're going to have to go that way, because they can't run against Emmett's record.)

Today's Pervert Moment - (Brought to you by the good folks of Lubbock who, I'm sure, are quite ready to be OUT of the news thank you very much.)

Better than most ain't so grand, and it's going to get worse if certain pieces of legislation remain a priority. (And this is with the energy sector still hanging in.)

This is the most important political issue for 2010. All of the rest is just noise from the media machine. (It helps if you can learn to filter)

It also makes healthcare expenses a requirement. (Punishable by possible jail time here in the 'Land of the free' etc. etc.)

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Craig James for Senate? I've a feeling he's lost the Lubbock vote. I wouldn't vote him in for dog-catcher, but that has more to do with the fact that I don't read him as all that intelligent. The last thing Texas needs is our own Al Franken. (Who, contrary to the gushing media, isn't all that intelligent. He is however a skilled writer and quick on his feet. In politics that (unfortunately) means a lot.)

Will the InterLeft stand for Shami? Evan thinks so. Me? I'm not so sure. Vince Leibowitz is a good blogger, but a majority of the Progressive blogosphere has already signed on for White, who has his own member of the InterLeft (Greg Whythe of gregsopinion) signed on for the duration. Since most of the InterLeft seemingly takes their lead from The Texas Progressive Alliance (More here, here, here, here, here and well..you get the picture), and the Alliance is all in for White....well, I don't see there being much written by the InterLeft that casts White in a negative light, certainly not when you consider the InterLeft considers White to be their best shot at the Governor's mansion since Tony Sanchez. (oh...wait)

And finally......

You elect 'em, The University of Texas @ Austin provides the perks. It's good to be the king.
